Never say I don't know how to bribe my child.
Wanting to do something different than the same-old-same-old chocolate chip cookies, I found this recipe for a shortbread cookie. By the way, as long as I am linking to her blog, has anyone else ever read The Pioneer Woman? Because you should. She is exactly who I would like to be. Except... with my husband instead of hers. And my child. And I wouldn't actually want to work on the ranch, I would just like to pretend I do. And still live close to a city.
Okay, so maybe I don't actually want to have her life. But I do admire it from afar. And her photography? Ooo-la-la. Pioneer Woman, you make me happy. And your shortbread cookies? They made me very happy, too.
In honor of the upcoming spooky holiday, here is Tes and I's version of the shortbread :
By the way, they are supposed to be jack-o-lanterns, NOT smiley faces. Perhaps we should have added some chocolate piping to make it more obvious. Oh well, too late now. They were yummy, chocolate stripes or not. And orange glaze? Tes kept saying how much she loved the 'cheese'.
She is definitely my favorite baking partner.
Peace.
I also adore the Pioneer Woman. A lot. So much to get lost in over there. Yum.
